Simone began her Side Saddle journey under the invaluable guidance of the late Wendy Tidbold who was well known and respected by the Saddlers & Harness Makers Association of Australia for her beautifully crafted side saddles and accessories as well as her passion for riding and coaching aside.

​

Simone spent many hours with Wendy either being coached in the saddle or learning the art of fitting side saddles and appreciated the precious knowledge Wendy so generously passed on. Wendy always rang to check up on Simone in between visits if she felt Simone didn't ring fast enough with news and updates. Wendys workshop and museum was a wonderful haven of modern and historic saddlery, outfits and accessories.

Simone’s passion for the American history of side saddle stems from her time living in the United States and her experience riding and owning American breeds. Driven by this interest, she has continued to expand her knowledge with the support and guidance of respected American mentors. 

 ​

Simone is proud to be internationally qualified, earning her J.I.C. (Judge, Instructor, Clinician) accreditation through the American Side Saddle Association.

 ASA Mission Statement

The American Sidesaddle Association (ASA) was formed to preserve, promote, and expand the elegance and historical art of riding      sidesaddle. The ASA wishes to promote enthusiasm for sidesaddle riding among the equestrian public.

Founded in 2008, ASA is a network of   regional sidesaddle clubs or chapters located throughout the nation. The Association supports all forms of riding and rider safety.
We honor the women who came before us but are inclusive of all people throughout society.
