We are incredibly excited to welcome Maggie Pritchard McAllister from the USA for our first official ASSC Side Saddle Clinic
This is a rare opportunity to learn from an internationally respected side saddle rider, coach, and advocate.
Maggie brings extensive side saddle experience gained through years of competing and teaching across the United States.
📢 OFFICIAL STATEMENT ASSC SIDE SADDLE CLINIC
It is with regret that the Australian Side Saddle Community (ASSC) advises that the upcoming Side Saddle Clinic has been cancelled.
This decision has been made after careful consideration of the current global situation, including ongoing conflict, rising fuel costs, and continued uncertainty surrounding international travel. These factors have created challenges that make it difficult to proceed with the clinic as planned.
We understand this will be disappointing news, please know that this decision was not made lightly, and the safety, accessibility, and overall experience of our participants and organisers has remained our highest priority.
While this is not the outcome we had hoped for, the Australian Side Saddle Community (ASSC) is already looking ahead and will be working toward rescheduling the clinic in late 2026 or early 2027.
We sincerely hope to welcome you all back for our ASSC Clinic – Take 2! 🐎

🐴 You do not need to be an experienced rider.
This clinic is ideal if you:
• Have always wanted to try side saddle
• Have dabbled and want correct guidance
• Rode aside years ago and would love to reconnect
• Want to improve confidence, balance, and harmony
🐴 Learn about saddle fitting, sidesaddle history, how to shop for a sidesaddle, the basics of walk, trot, and canter.
🐴 A valuable opportunity for experienced riders to further their education with a highly respected and qualified international instructor.

• Non-ASA Member: $270 – Full Day
• ASA Member: $250 – Full Day
🐎 Ridden Participants
• Bring your own horse or book a horse (limited horses available)

👀 Non-Riding Participant: $50 – Full Day
• Enjoy the same hands-on experience without a ridden lesson
• Be in the arena learning saddle fitting and related skills
🪑 Fence Sitters: $20
• Watch, listen, and learn from the sideline

• Limited side saddles will be available to hire for the day
