Riding In Parades

We recognise that not every rider aspires to compete in competitions or the show ring.
Many choose to showcase the timeless elegance of side saddle by participating in parades and community events.
These occasions provide riders with the opportunity to enjoy their discipline while introducing the broader community to the grace and tradition of riding aside.
Parade participation and etiquette:

As a side saddle rider in a parade, you embody the tradition and the heritage of side saddle. Representing all side saddle riders, it is imperative to conduct yourself with professionalism and grace at all times.
Maintain an upright posture with poise, smile warmly, and be sure to always acknowledge the spectators with a courteous wave. As a key part of the event’s presentation, your focus should remain on the audience rather than engaging in conversation with fellow riders. Most importantly, do not forget to cherish the experience with your horse and your trusted partner.
The benefits of riding in a parade side saddle:

· Showcasing Tradition: Parades offer a platform to display the elegance and history of side saddle riding.

· Community Engagement: Engaging with the audience and broader community provides riders the opportunity to educate others, fostering appreciation and interest in the tradition of riding side saddle.

· Confidence Building: Participating in parades offers riders a valuable opportunity to develop and strengthen their personal confidence and enrich their riding experiences.
